Touch Associates was tasked with supporting one of its long standing global
pharmaceutical clients in its mission to unite it’s UK & Ireland employees in 2022 for
a companywide event bringing the full workforce together for the first time since the
pandemic…
Brief
In 2019, Touch Associates’ client had been through a major transition. The summer of
2022 was the first time in three years that the full company of 600+ employees was able to
convene and rediscover what it meant to be a part of the organisation.
The aims for the event were to create a fun, engaging atmosphere leaving attendees feeling
energised and motivated with the organisation’s goals whilst providing a platform for the recently
appointed Senior Leadership team to showcase their vision.
Touch Associates ensured that a sustainable concept was essential throughout planning.
The project team prioritised sustainability by carefully minimising emissions throughout every
aspect of event delivery, ensuring measurable outcomes that aligned with the client’s goals.
The Solution
To showcase the company’s new location, a big top was erected within the office grounds. A
carnival theme was created to ensure the event was fun, engaging, and motivational, while also
allowing space in the agenda for key messages to be communicated.
The whole event was plastic-free. There were no printed materials, all event details and
communications were channelled via the event app. Local suppliers were utilised which included
small family run businesses providing seasonal produce on demand to avoid waste. A plant-based
offering was promoted, with a strict no red meat policy.
Results
The Touch Associates team were able to draw on their vast experience having delivered live and
experiential projects for this client to ensure an outstanding event that exceeded the client’s KPIs.
The wellness areas and selection of sustainably sourced catering options sparked lively
conversations, offering a space for colleagues to reconnect and engage with one another. This
helped create a true celebration of recent achievements and provided an opportunity for inperson interactions.
The inclusion of a UK Paralympian added an inspiring touch to the agenda, and after the
event, local businesses were supported by donating materials to a local theatre group.
Flight consumption was offset by the client and the AV supplier offset their
transportation. Through carbon measurement and mindful reduction in planning,
the client was able to offset the remaining emissions footprint of 70.6 tonnes C02e
certifying the event as carbon neutral.
The event exceeded all expectations and a subsequent ESG report rewarded
the event with a distinction.
